St Luke's Sound is the hospital radio for St Luke's Hospital, based within their own studios at St Luke's Hospital. St Luke's Sound is a Charity and is entirely run by volunteers, who give a few hours a week, either presenting or producing, providing music and information to listeners across BRI.

We are requiring more people to help us run the radio, whether that be presenting or assisting a show, or helping with the technical and engineering functions behind the scenes.

St Luke's Sound play a variety of music, played to suit a wide age range of listeners and it is important to always remember St Luke's Sound are representing an NHS organisation, conversing, dealing with and being observed by patients, visitors and staff members. Professional, respectable and sensible behaviour must be displayed at all times.

Whilst St Luke's Sound have their own specific training in place, as an NHS volunteer it is mandatory to follow all Trust volunteer recruitment and induction policies to be able to volunteer within Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This will be provided by the Voluntary Services Team.

A professional approach should be maintained at all times. Political opinion and bad language are not permitted.

As St Luke's Sound is a Charity, as a volunteer we ask that you support any fundraising activities which take place, to ensure St Luke's Sound continues to be funded and remains financially secure.

What you will be doing

• Presenting a radio programme, playing a variety of music and sharing information to listeners
• Support behind the scenes – engineers and technicians helping keep the station on air or fixing equipment
• Organise the catalogue of music/CD’s
• Help keep the studio clean and tidy
• Representing the Radio at events
• Help with fundraising events
• Support the charity with various tasks
