Accommodation

There are many student halls and landlords offering private accommodation available in Bradford. Some offer services and some are much better than others so it is important that you look into each hall or house and find out as much as you can about the property before you commit to a contract or pay a deposit. The University provides a number of services to help you choose, and UBU can often support you if things go wrong.

You can use Unipol to explore "vetted" housing. Find more information here: http://www.unipol.org.uk/home If you choose to use alternative means to find accommodation, we strongly recommend that you always view the property in person before signing a contract.

Before signing any contract it is important that you are aware that all contracts are legally binding and you will become liable for the rent for the full period. Additionally, when signing a contract is is important to check if your deposit is protected by a tenancy deposit protection scheme. You can find out about this by visiting the following website: http://england.shelter.org.uk/housing_advice/tenancy_deposits/check_if_your_tenancy_deposit_is_protected

In case of a dispute with the landlord, you should talk to your landlord first. If you feel you have exhausted the avenue of talking to the landlord yourself, then you can make an appointment with one of our advisers.
