Student Rep Survey, Access and Participation: Get Involved!

WHAT IS A STUDENT REP?

A student rep is an integral part of the student voice structure. It is an individual who represents the views and needs of their peers and communicates them directly to the academics, professional staff and program team.

LA student rep will use your feedback to drive positive change within your course/department/faculty or even university with the support of the Union and University Staff. This means that you will have the best possible student experience during your time at bradford.

How do I become a rep?

Student reps are elected by their peers, you will receive communications from your academics on how to sign up to be a student rep and usually the election will be facilitated by a staff member. The student voice team will be working hard in the background to make sure all courses have atleast one student rep representing them but if your course does not have a student rep feel free to drop us an email on student-voice@bradford.ac.uk and we can facilitate an election in your course.

I’ve been elected to be a rep – now what?

Once elected remind your academics to forward your information onto the student union.

You should then receive an email inviting you to a training session which will happen some time in October – if you don’t receive this feel free to reach out to us and we can get you booked on.

Inform your peers that you are their representative and provide information on how they can reach you.

Make contact with your nominated staff member for your programme (normally your programme leader) – if you are struggling with finding out who they are, you can reach out to the student voice team and they will let you know.

Who is my student rep?

Your student rep for your year and course should have made themselves known to you at the beginning of the academic year!

Your academics should also have the student reps name on canvas
