Abigail Housing is a charity supporting destitute asylum seekers and refugees in Bradford and Leeds. In Bradford we provide accommodation, food and support for destitute asylum seekers who have been homeless and help them to re-engage wtih the asylum system in order to gain refugee status.We have 5 houses in Bradford, four for men and one for women, housing in total 19 people.
We receive no access to public funds, relying on donations, fundraising and grant applications to support our work.
• Answering the telephone, taking enquiries and recording messages from residents and others to pass on to relevant staff. Receiving people at the office with appointment or for meetings.
• Make notes in resident files, write emails and letters/make phone calls, photocopy and use the filing system.
• To collect rent, using the petty cash system to purchasing of small items, record and process money it in line with our procedures.
• Liaise with the group and Abigail Housing staff regarding residents’ casework, carrying out actions as directed by staff
