The University of Bradford Students Union would like to know if you feel the current speed limit is an appropriate on Great Horton Road. As part of the Safety and Welfare Research Project into issues surrounding safety on the main city campus, we are releasing a series of questions every week leading to April 2017, to ascertain the issues that exist in the area.

The Current Speed Limit on Great Horton Road is 30mph.

The speed limit is not the problem. The problem is the people who ignore the limit.

Agreed, the speed limit is sufficient... the lack of enforcement however is a big issue

I am fine with the limit but it is the people driving that need to be re-educated as I have crossed at the lights opposite the gym, and cars have ignored the lights and almost run me over.

I must agree with everyone else, the speed limit is perfectly acceptable and for the most part, everyone that uses Great Horton Road is sensible and they stick to speed limit. In most cases, it's boy racers who drive up and down the road very high speeds and accelerate very fast as well whilst blasting out very loud music. The high speeds can cause accidents and the load music acts a massive distraction to both the driver and pedestrians crossing the road, thus massively increasing the risk of an accident happening. I think stronger enforcement is required, including speed cameras being installed.
