We host a variety of huge events and competitions each year, from Varsity, our annual competition against our fiercest rivals, the University of Huddersfield, to Colours Ball, the annual black-tie event that celebrates the successes and achievements of students and their clubs. There is also Intramural, an annual sports tournament for students and graduates which is run by 2 Intramural Officers and there's also the Team Bradford Tournament, an annual staff vs student sports competition held at the end of the academic year.
The Colours Ball is an event held at the end of the year to celebrate the success and achievements of members in Sports & Societies. This starts off as a drinks reception in the student bars, followed by a drinks reception at a nearby hotel. In the main venue a sit down, 3 course meal is served and followed by awards and performances. A professional photographer will be at the venue to capture all the nights special moments, and you can purchase these photos at very reasonable prices. At the end of the evening there is a special Colours FND to finish the night! It is a great opportunity to be part of something special, a night dedicated to Sports & Societies, this event is not to be missed!
The intermural is the annual spring competition where sixteen teams of up to fifteen mixed students play a variety of sports in the hope that they'll be crowned the best!
Many students who participate don't come from a sporting background so there's a much bigger focus on fun. Each year includes numerous sports plus a mystery event and usually occurs around March or April time.
