Opening Times

The Advice Centre is open from 9.15 am to 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday, all year round (except Public Holidays) and is located on the middle floor of Student Central on the main campus.

We operate an appointment system, but in the case of extreme emergency students will be seen on the same day.

Student welfare policy

It is really important that all students (new and old) are aware of, and understand the policies and procedures of the University, including those relating to student welfare. These tell you what you can expect from the University in certain circumstances and lets you know what your responsibilities are!

Out of Hours Support

If you are worried about your emotional health and are having thoughts of self harm or suicide out of University hours you can still access help immediately.
Do try to tell someone about how you are feeling. This could be a trusted friend, a family member or someone who is with you now.
If no-one is available there are a number of people you can contact who will listen and provide you with immediate support:

If you feel that your life is in imminent danger then go to Accident and Emergency at the nearest hospital or contact 999. At the hospital you may have to wait, but you will be able to see a Mental Health Professional who can help.
